On My Street (Northern Virginia Family Photographer, Northern Virginia Photographer, Warrenton Family Photographer, Child Photographer, Leilani Mitchell Photography, Leilani Photography)

You got to love it here in Virginia when you can literally just walk down your street and have a fantastic view to use as a backdrop for your family pictures.
I have been blessed to photograph this family a few times and I would like to say that if feels like not a day has passed since the last time I saw them because we always have fun chatting away BUT.... these kids keep growing!  Whew!  I tell you what, I think I'll start freaking out when I start photographing their weddings.  It is such a treasure to capture each passing year to see the joy of the growing children.

I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.

Christmas Cards (Northern Virginia Family Photographer, Winery at LaGrange, Christmas Cards, Northern Virginia Photographer,

It's that time of the year to have Christmas and Holiday Cards rolling out to our family and friends.
It is also one of the most beautiful times of year here in Virginia.  The colors of the trees are amazing.  The weather is cool and crisp.
This family I had the pleasure of working with.  The children were so cute and sweet.  Plus, they giggled along with my silly sense of humor.  The parents were so fun we hung out for a few minutes after we were done and chatted for a bit.  I look forward to seeing them all again.
This year I offered Family Portrait Packages that included original designed Holiday Cards.
This is one of the photo sessions from one of those packages.

Soon to Have a New Addition (Northern Virginia Baby Bump, Northern Virginia Maternity Pictures, Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer, Gainesville VA Photographer, Leilani Mitchell Photography, Leilani Photography)

Countdown has begun!  I know the parents are super excited to have their new addition to their family but I'm not going to lie, I can't wait to take the newborn images.  Until then, I got to photograph that wonderful time in this beautiful woman's life.  We go through so many changes throughout our life, I think it is such a blessed time and it should be enjoyed and captured.
I had such a great time with this couple.  There was some fun creative ideas, some I can't share just yet because the baby's name won't be revealed until a later date.
Enjoy this fun moment in time.

Beautiful Wedding (Northern Virginia Wedding Photographer, Northern Virginia Photographer, Washington DC Temple wedding, Leilani Photography)

I am so lucky that I was able to be a part of this beautiful wedding.
I'll admit that it is hard watching children grow up and then go and get married.
I have had the joy and pleasure of knowing this young lady for many years and now she has grown into a beautiful woman at a beautiful wedding.
I love seeing the joy on a new couples face.  This couple was so cute and fun!  I loved capturing these memories for them.

It's Graduation Time Once Again (Northern Virginia High School Photographer, Battlefield High School Senior Photographer, Northern Virginia Photographer, Leilani Mitchell Photographer)

It's hard to believe the school year is almost over and for some it is the end of High School.
It is such an exciting time to in life and so fun to document it!
The photo session was so great!  This High School Senior was so fun and everything went so smoothly. Also, the cherry blossoms were perfect!  The trees were such a great backdrop for such a great photo session.
I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.

Stopped the Growth (Northern Virginia Child Photographer, Northern Virginia Family Photographer, Leilani Photography)

This cute little guy just keeps on growing and growing. As he grows he just keeps getting cuter.  It is so fun seeing him grow and being the one to capture it.  This is one of the many reasons I love being a photographer.  I get to stop them growing up in the image. He can't grow any more in this picture even though he grows every moment outside of these images.

Where Some Sweet Smiles Come From (Northern Virginia Baby Photographer, Northern Virginia Photographer, Gainesville Virginia Photographer, Haymarket Virginia Photographer)

Isn't she just the cutest little thing?  It was fun to see how much she grew in a years time.
I know you can't tell but she was such a trooper this day.  It was so hot outside and yet we still got some sweet smiles.  Even better yet, I remember how she got these smiles.  It was her mom working behind me.  This little sweety loves her mom and I will always remember that because of these images.
I hope you enjoy these cute images.

Ha! Ha! I Got Them! (Northern Virginia Child photographer, Northern Virginia High School photographer, Northern Virginia Photographer, Gainesville Virginia Photographer, Leilani Mitchell Photography, Leilani Photography)

Whew!  I think most people I photograph assume that it is easy for me as a photographer to photograph my own children.  Well, to be quite frank with you it isn't easy at all.
Every year there is one reason or another that my boys drag out the photographing process.  There are times when they just run around crazy and I chase after them, there are times when the weather doesn't cooperate, the list of excuses go on and on.  But!  I finally got them!  In deed I got the pictures done.
My oldest son had a bad haircut and he wouldn't allow me to photograph him until it grew out a little.  I think he's handsome no matter what!
Then there's my youngest who was more interested in playing his video games and also wanted his pictures done in the snow like our family pictures, so we had to wait for another snow storm before we could take them.
So, here there are my growing boys.  Another older and another wrinkle added to my face.  :)  I sure do love them!

My Family in the snow! (Northern Virginia Family Photographer, Gainesville Virginia Photographer, Leilani Photography)

I wanted my family picture to be taken in the snow so badly.  I patiently waited and waited and then BAM!  We had a record breaking snow fall!  I was hoping to take them in the trees with the snow still on the branches but it snowed so much we were only able to get out to my deck.  I still have very happy with it.
