Being a part of a photographer's family you have to put up a lot!!!  I know my family has dealt with some crazy things.  One thing I know that wears on them is to stand in as a model while I try new equipment.  There are countless times where I get sour looks from all of them as they sit there waiting for me to get everything just right. 

Bless my neighbor, Rick, he was at our house planning a mother's day brunch while I was setting up for a photo shoot the next day.  I called out to my son to come and sit in my scene as I worked around with the lighting, etc.  My son moaned!  My friend, who was rather ecstatic, volunteered.  Let me tell you, it was so much fun!  I don't think I've ever been so entertained while setting up. 

Don't you worry about the following, I got total permission to post all of these pictures. 

Hee, hee!  Thanks Rick!  Your a Good Guy!  Thanks for the good laughs.

My Beautiful Aunt (Northern Virginia Photographer, Northern Virginia Headshots, Northern Virginia Family Photographer)

Well, I have just realized that I have never posted the beautiful pictures I took of my wonderful Aunt over the summer.  I realized this when our lovely family was commenting on some of my Aunt's pictures on Facebook.  I thought I would take a moment and post all of my favorites from our photo session. 

Each of these hats my Aunt is wearing have special significance in her and my life.  Some of the hats treasured family members have worn. 

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pictures of my beautiful Aunt.

I had the pleasure of taking High School Senior Pictures with this family's daughter and during the winter break she came back to visit and I got to photograph the entire family. 

I had so much fun with everyone in the family.  We laughed and joked the entire session.  I kept telling them that they were just so cute and fun that I would love to just sit them on my mantel above my fireplace and whenever I would look at them, I would smile. 

I truly had such a good time.  I am so thankful that I got to meet the entire family. 

I hear that they have another child going to graduate next year, so with any luck, I'll get to see them or at least one of them again next year.  ;)

 

 

MAC Pageant Contestant (Northern Virginia Child Photographer, Northern Virginia Model Photographer, Northern Virginia Headshots)

Look at this cutie pie!  She is so adorable.  Not only is she cute as a button but she is a sweetheart too. 

She was a contestant in the MAC Pageant in Virginia and she won several awards but just knowing her personality and how cute she is, how could she not win so many awards. 

It was a pleasure working with this young lady.  Watch out world!  She's going places.

Which one, which one to choose?????

I was posting some pictures on Facebook and I noticed that one of my good friends hasn't updated her profile picture in awhile.  I really can't say much because it has been over a year and a half since I have updated mine (I really need to get on that).  Anyway, we did a recent photo shoot to get that updated picture but, I can't decide which one would be the right one. 

What is your opinion?????

This one is a great one.  I love the field of flowers in the background.

Here is a great headshot that would be nice.  Don't you love how here eyes just pop!

I think this is cute because the wind is slightly blowing here hair and she has a great smile on her face.

I like how there is a ray of sunlight in this picture.  Makes it seem so sunny and bright.

Impressive Yoga (Northern Virginia Photographer, Northern Virginia Business Photographer, Northern Virginia Headshots)

I wish I could say that I knew the difference between a Warrior I pose and a Tree pose.  I know these are yoga terms but without assistance, I am lost.  That is why I was so impressed with this Yoga queen.  She had all the moves down and demonstrated very well. 

These pictures will be used to help promote her yoga business and to modivate me.  :)

 



Picture Party (Northern Virginia Photographer, Headshots in Northern Virginia)

Well, I had my first ever Picture Party and it was a blast!  Everyone had such a great time!  All the girls glammed it up and put on their model faces then worked the camera. 

In case you are wondering what a picture party is, it is when you get a group of people together for mini sessions at a discounted price.

Fun with Washington D.C.'s Cherry Blossoms (Northern Virginia Photographer)

Growing up in Southeast Idaho I didn't care for spring too much because it is muddy, cold, and everything was DEAD!  There was not a spot of color around until summertime (Sorry to all of my family and friends still living there, don't hate on me). 

I love spring here in D.C. and Virginia.  There are so many glorious colors everywhere!  Oh, and the cherry blossoms are to die for. 

Well, during one of the glorious days before the blossoms disappeared, my friend and I had a bit of fun taking pictures.  I love how they turned out. 

With this picture, I wanted it to look like a painting.  I added some texture and some brush stokes and I love how it turned out.

I love this picture because you can see more of the blossoms.  I love the lace and the umbrella too.  They add a femine quality to the softness of the picture.
